Ruthless Brown
05:11

|

Two years all alone
Just me and my trusty steed
Traveled across the plain
With no plans,
Just living free
Came across an old town
Just a prison and a bar
Stopped in for a drink
For I had traveled far
Shot of whiskey
Well, make that two
I softly spoke
As I rolled up a cigarette
Cravin' for a toke
In walked a man who was big and strong
By the name of Ruthless Brown
Feared man with gun in hand
Had control of the whole town
Must've stood about ten feet tall
Tobacco Pipe in hand
He looked at me as he drained his glass
Asked "What brings you to this land?"
He was looking for trouble
He didn't like my looks
And I was getting ready to leave
When I got outside
and the reins were cut
There was no sight of my steed
I said to the Sheriff
My horse is gone
I'm only passing through this town
I got an idea who did this act
They call him Ruthless brown
And the Sheriff laughed
And kicked up his heels
He told me I better leave
Oh, Ruthless Brown
He controls this town
Talk to him about your steed
I walked into the bar
With peacemaker in my hand
And I spotted Ruthless Brown
I said "I heard you rule this land"
He looked down at me with a nasty grin
"Well you've heard about me that's nice
If you hear about your steed,
You're not worthy of a fight"
His hand was in his pocket
He said "It looks like you'd better leave
I run this town and all this land
You don't wanna mess with me"
So I made a deal with old Ruthless Brown
It was a risky choice indeed
It was a fight to the death
Set myself and his town free
Tomorrow in the town
I said "A duel for all to see
I'll shoot you down, ole' Ruthless Brown
We'll have one bullet each"
The terms were set
He made a bet
That he was gonna shoot me
Said he never lost
He never will
If I was smart I'd choose to flee
Now time had come to kill Ruthless Brown
The whole town was there to see
Squeezed off a round
Which hit the ground
The whole town was in a shock
I looked at him with pistol in my hand
I said "It looks like you'd better leave"
I won this duel but I won't shoot you
Leave this town
It belongs to me

Dreamer

Trees scatter the light,
But not once is it blocked
I want to see it fully unmasked
With the truth unlocked
One day I figure it might be different,
Not feeling so much like shit
There's always a secret kept in the shadows
And unfit
Are you phased?
Does it mean anything when your'e blazed?
Do I mean anything?
Cause I'm a dreamer,
No, not met by the eye
And I'm covered in darkness
No light from the sky

I Need

I need somebody
To turn this wine into water
I am thirsty but this bottle
Isn't quenching any part of me
I need
I need somebody
To turn this sorrow into joyfulness
I'm trying but my demons
Won't allow any part of me
I need
I'm sinking deeper
Into a weak foundation
Made of nothing but lies
And empty frustration
You know I need
I know I can't be complainin'
I got no reason to be down
Or lack of appreciation
You know I need

Once Before
05:41
|
|
||
Rain drags across the tin roof
Leaves fall to the ground
I will follow the sound
Splashin' through the window
Running down my cheekbone
I feel it coming 'round
Thoughts creepin' on my tombstone
Crushed leaves on the ground
Absence of sound
My mind hurries out the backdoor
What is this feelin'?
I wanted more
Unaware of the problem
Nothing can shake it
I'm drunk and mistaken
I've felt this feelin' once before
High and left naked
Beached upon the shore
Lying here
Still wanting more
Still wanting more
Touches on my shoulder
Running down my arm
I curse the lord
Just one last sip of bourbon
In my eyes
It's my only war
Unaware of the problem
Nothing can shake it
I'm drunk and mistaken
I've felt this feeling once before
High and left naked
Beached upon the shore
Lying here
Still wanting more
Still wanting more
Still wanting more....

Diggin' My Grave
05:44
|
|
||
I see trouble in the water
Currents pullin' out to sea
And I am bound to drift out too
That's just alright with me
You've got to get yourself together
Be the man the want to see
But workin' hard to earn a dollar
That just ain't the life for me
No, it isn't
That ain't the life for me
I'm diggin' my grave
Deep down below
Ain't gonna worry about that no more
I'm diggin' my grave
Deep down below
Salvation ain't a thing no more
